LEDYARD, CT — A Ledyard woman is seeking volunteers to help with her search for a North Stonington woman who went missing Memorial Day weekend, the New London Day reported.

According to the Day, Lisa Garner, a family friend of 21-year-old Sofia McKenna, said a small group of people have been wading in the shallow water along the Groton and New London shoreline for 10-12 hours a day looking for McKenna. She is currently seeking people with boats to assist with the search.

According to a news release, McKenna and Spencer Mugford were last seen aboard a white tandem kayak via social media on May 27 at 2 a.m. They were reported missing at 6:30 p.m. that night.
