Man Arrested for Alleged Involvement in Ledyard Accident
The man allegedly fled from police, running into a wooded area behind a Dunkin' Donuts.

Ledyard Police responded to Church Hill Rd at Fanning Rd. on Oct. 24 of this year, for a report of a vehicle vs. stone wall accident.
Before police arrived, the driver allegedly left the scene in a car that had sustained heavy damage.
Officers followed a fluid trail from the scene and were assisted by a witness who reported a suspicious vehicle with heavy damage in the parking lot of the Dunkin Donuts on Route 2 in Preston, according to police.

When the Ledyard officer arrived, the male driver, later identified as Myles Grillo, 21,of no certain address, reportedly ran into the wooded area behind Dunkin Donuts.
He then ran across Route 2 into the woods adjacent to the Hilton Gardens Hotel. A search by Ledyard Police, Connecticut State Police, and Mashantucket Tribal Police failed to locate the subject.

Based on investigation recovered at the scene, the identity of the suspect was established and the vehicle involved in the accident was determined to have been allegedly stolen from Virginia Beach, Va.
On October 25, Grillo was arrested at a residence in Groton by the Groton Town Police Department on an outstanding arrest warrant.
On November 14, the Ledyard Police Department arrested Grillo at the New London courthouse, on an arrest warrant related to the accident.
Grillo was charged with larceny in the third degree, by alleged possession for the stolen vehicle from Virginia.
He was also charged with reckless driving, evading responsibility and operating without a license.
He remained in the custody of the Department of Corrections after his arraignment, according to the Ledyard Police Department.
