Man Charged In Hotel Room Burglary, Vehicle Theft: Ledyard PD
Police said a man is accused of stealing cash, credit cards and more from a Ledyard hotel room, then stealing a woman's car.

LEDYARD, CT — Police said a Massachusetts man is accused of stealing cash, credit cards and more from a Ledyard hotel room, then stealing a woman's car. The alleged incident occurred Friday around 10:09 p.m.
Police said the woman was staying at the Two Trees Inn on Indiantown Road when an unknown suspect got into her hotel room by cutting a screen and entering through a window. The woman reported over $1,500 in cash, several credit cards and her car keys were stolen, according to a release.
The woman soon called police back and reported her car was missing from the parking lot, and her credit card had just been used at Mohegan Sun Casino, police said. Officers immediately notified Mohegan Sun Tribal Police, who located the vehicle in one of their parking garages at approximately 10:37 p.m.

Mohegan Sun Tribal Police subsequently located the Ringo Sousa, 33, of Salem, Mass., as he was walking back to the car. He was found to be in possession of both the car keys and numerous items he purchased at Mohegan Sun with the victim’s stolen card, according to police.
Police said the accused gave a false name and destroyed a piece of identification during booking in an alleged attempt to hide his real identity.

The accused was charged with Criminal Mischief, Larceny, Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, Interfering with Police and Criminal Impersonation among other charges, police said.
