LEDYARD, CT — A Ledyard man has been charged with criminal mischief in connection with an incident Tuesday. Police received a call reporting a man in the front yard of 185 Whalehead Road who was bloody and slurring his words.

Police arrived and found the man, later identified as Vincent Grybauskas, standing in the home's front yard with a laceration on his right hand bleeding steadily. He said he was at a friend's house nearby and had cut his hand trying to get back in the house.

Police found that Grybauskas had been trying to re-enter the home at 194 Whalehead Road where he was allowed to spend the night. He attempted to enter the home by punching his fist through a glass part of the front door, which resulted in his injury.
