Man Charged In Ledyard Domestic Assault: Police

A New London man is facing numerous charges following an assault over the weekend, according to police.

LEDYARD, CT — A man is facing multiple charges connected to a domestic assault, according to police. Police received a call from a female victim at 3:34 a.m. Saturday who said her husband threatened to kill her.

Police arrived at a Gales Ferry home and found that the man had forced entry and assaulted the female victim while small children were present, according to police. Police used a less-than-lethal device to take the man into custody. He was transported to Backus Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Hoskellyn Marte, 33, of New London, was charged with home invasion, interfering with a 911 call, third-degree assault, interfering with an officer, two counts of risk of injury to a minor, two counts of second-degree criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, and second-degree threatening.

He was held on $100,000 bond. He was scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Monday.
