Man Charged In Serious Accident With Gales Ferry Fire Department SUV

A man is facing charges in a serious motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and a Gales Ferry Fire Department SUV, police said.

LEDYARD, CT —A man has been charged in connection to a serious motor vehicle accident involving a motorcycle and a Gales Ferry Fire Department SUV, according to Ledyard police.

Kevin Dingman, 27, of Griswold, turned himself in on an arrest warrant Tuesday. Dingman was arrested following an "extensive investigation" into the Jan. 1 crash, police said.

The accident occurred on Route 12 at Barry Drive.

Dingman was charged with reckless driving, passing in a no-passing zone, operating a motor vehicle with unsafe tires, and illegal possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle.

He was held on $25,000 bond and scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Wednesday.
