Man Drives With Headlight Off, Arrested For Smoking Marijuana

Police said a man was arrested on charges of smoking marijuana after driving without his headlamps illuminated.

LEDYARD, CT - Police said a man was arrested on charges of smoking marijuana after driving without his headlamps illuminated. The accused vehicle, a black 2004 Honda Accord bearing CT temporary registration, was observed on Route 12 northbound near the intersection of Chapman Lane, police said.

Police said the vehicle was also observed swerving across the double yellow median lane. Officers stopped the vehicle, during which they discovered Allan Vargas, 21, had just smoked marijuana.

The suspect was arrested without incident and transported to the Ledyard Police Department, police said. He was released on a $500 cash bond and is scheduled to appear in court June 6.
