Man Stopped For Speeding, Found With Marijuana: Ledyard PD

Police said a Lisbon man was arrested on possession of marijuana and other charges after being pulled over for speeding.

LEDYARD, CT — Police said a Lisbon man was arrested Wednesday on possession of marijuana and other charges after being pulled over for speeding. Police said the accused was stopped while traveling northbound on Shewville Road for driving 54 mph in a clearly posted 30 mph zone and for crossing the center lines.

After stopping the car, the accused was found to be in possession of a "green plantlike material believed to be marijuana," as well as a scale and 10 glassine bags containing a white powder believed to be heroin, according to a release.

Police said Ryan A. Chojnacki, 29, of Lisbon was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, unreasonable speed and failure to drive right.
