Man, Woman Charged With Stealing Mail In Ledyard: PD

LEDYARD, CT — Police said a man and a woman have been charged with stealing mail from nine different homes in Ledyard. The incident occurred Saturday at approximately 3:30 p.m., police said.

Police said Karen Sattler, 31, of Ledyard was observed taking mail out of mailboxes on Bittersweet Drive. The suspect then attempted to leave the area in a vehicle driven by Paul Bolduc, 33, when confronted by a neighbor, according to a release.

Police said the suspects were subsequently stopped on Route 12 and found to be in possession of several pieces of stolen mail from nine different addresses, police said.

A search of the vehicle also found drug paraphernalia and a large knife, police said.

Both suspects were arrested and charged with larceny and criminal trespass, police said. Bolduc was additionally charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a dangerous weapon in a motor vehicle.

The suspects are scheduled to appear in court Jan. 10.
