Mashantucket Man Who Dragged Daughter Through School Receives Sentence
Prosecutors said he could have handled the situation better but was trying to help his daughter.

NEW LONDON, CT - A man who dragged his daughter through her school in September will not face prison time, News 8 reported.
Mark Thornton, 39, of Mashantucket allegedly dragged his 13-year old daughter by her wrists and ankles from outside a classroom to the main office of her school, according to News 8. The suspect said he resorted to dragging the girl after she refused to leave for counseling.
Prosecutors said Thornton could have handled the situation better but was still desperately trying to get help for his daughter, News 8 reported. He has been sentenced to three years probation, while his daughter is currently in state care.
