Mashantucket Tribal Official Accused Of Drunken Driving: Report

Police said the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe's chief of staff ​has been charged in an alleged drunken driving crash​ that left two injured.

MASHANTUCKET, CT — Police said the Mashantucket Pequot Tribe's chief of staff has been charged in an alleged drunken driving crash that left his two sons injured, the New London Day reported.

According to the Day, police in Santa Monica, Calif., said Antonio M. Beltran, 54, of Waterford collided with a Metro Expo Line train on April 18 after allegedly running a red light. Both teens who were in the car at the time of the incident were under the age of 18 and had been drinking, police said.

Police said one of the teens remains hospitalized in critical condition after suffering major head trauma, according to the Day. The accused was arrested at the hospital following treatment.
