NBC's "Undateable" Star Chis D'Elia Will Take His "Under No Influence" Tour to Fox Theater at Foxwoods November 7

Comix At Foxwoods presents NBC's "Undateable" star and stand-up sensation Chris D'Elia live at the Fox Theater on Nov. 7 @ 9:00 pm

The young comedian, who was East Coast born and West Coast raised, found himself in the greater Los Angeles area taking the stage anywhere he could - from local coffee shops and cafes to various hole-in-the-wall dive bars. Performing virtually every night of the week, D’Elia quickly made a name for himself, becoming a regular at all the stand-up clubs in Hollywood. Chris’s silly, physical humor sets him apart from other comedians. His comedy comprises a myriad of characters and voices, most likely due to his background in acting. Chris explains, “I never really feel like just standing there and telling jokes. I wanna move around. In fact, it’s hard for me to write a joke where I don’t end up on the ground for some reason.”

D’Elia began performing and acting back when he was in high school and successfully landed his first legitimate gig guest starring on parts on “Chicago Hope.” He went to New York University and studied acting but dropped out after a year because he didn’t like college. During his downtime as an actor D’Elia began writing a variety of scripts hoping one would receive the green light. By the time he turned 25, D’Elia found himself performing stand-up comedy, which is something that he had always dreamed of doing.

Today, he considers himself to be a stand-up comedian who acts, saying “Once I started doing stand-up, everything fell into place. That was when I started acting more; I felt like I’d found my place in the business.” Since his on-stage career launched, D’Elia has been featured on Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham,” “Comedy Central Presents” and Showtime’s “Live Nude Comedy.” In December of 2013, Comedy Central aired D’Elia’s first one-hour stand-up special, “White Male Black Comic,” which was directed by Chris’s dad.
