New Ledyard Ambulance Service Off To Promising Start: Report

Town officials said they were pleased with the service's performance thus far but noted it was still early in the transition.

LEDYARD, CT — After a month of utilizing a new ambulance service, Mayor Fred Allyn III said average response times in Ledyard have dropped significantly and there have not been any missed calls, the New London Day reported.

According to the Day, American Ambulance took over for the Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad at the beginning of July after LVES had been struggling to respond to calls. Town officials said they were pleased with the service's performance thus far but noted it was still early in the transition.
