Republican John A. Rodolico to Succeed Mayor Fred B. Allyn Jr.
Mayor-elect John A. Rodolico will be sworn in today at a 10 a.m. ceremony at Ledyard Center Elementary School. He will succeed Mayor Fred B. Allyn Jr., who Rodolico defeated in a four-way race on Nov. 8.
Rodolico, 61, is retiring this week as a principal engineer from Electric Boat, where he has worked for nearly 40 years, including 25 years in management. He has a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from New York Polytech and a master’s degree in civil engineering from University of Connecticut.
In the four-way race, he prevailed over Allyn, Democratic candidate Anthony Saccone and petitioning candidate Rob Lawrence by stressing open government, efficiency and professionalism. He will serve a four-year term.
