New Town Council is Sworn In
Sean Sullivan Unanimously Selected to Chair 21st Council
Linda Davis nominated fellow Republican Sean Sullivan for chairman of the 21st Town Council, the first of several appointments unanimously approved by members at an organizational meeting Monday night.
Council members Steve Eichelberg, Bill Saums, Kevin Dombrowski, John Marshall, Mary McGrattan and Mike France, along with Davis and Sullivan, all were was sworn in to office Monday. Councilor Sharon Wadecki did not attend the meeting.
Sullivan said it is an honor to serve as Town Council chairman, and said he looks forward to working closely with Mayor John A. Rodolico, who also was sworn in Monday. “It’s a great town and it’s an honor to be of service to it,” Sullivan said.

The council approved the chairs and membership of its five committees:
- Eichelberg as chairman, and Dombroski and McGrattan as members of the Administration Committee;
- Marshall as chairman, and Eichelberg and McGrattan as members of the Community Services Committee;
- France as chairman, and Marshall and Wadecki as members of the Finance Committee;
- Dombrowski as chairman, and Davis and Saums as members of the Land Use/Planning/Public Works Committee;
- Davis as chairman, and Eichelberg and Saums of the Information Technology Committee.

- McGrattan for Library Commission, Nursing Board, Ledyard Housing Authority, Social Services Board and Commission for Senior Citizens;
- Wadecki for Ledyard and Gales Ferry Fire Companies;
- Marshall for Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad and Inland Wetlands/Water Courses Commission;
- Davis for Parks and Recreation Commission and Board of Education;
- France for Historic District Commission and Conservation Commission;
- Dombrowski for Planning Commission, Zoning Commission, ZBA and Ledyard Town Center Committee;
- Saums for Water Pollution Control Authority and Ledyard Town Center Committee.
The council approved Nancy R. Gosselin as Town Treasurer and Roxanne M. Maher as Administrative Assistant to the Ledyard Town Council.
The council will conduct its first regular meeting on Wedesday, Dec. 14. It voted to change its regular meeting time from 7:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., which is the time the Board of Education meets on alternating Wednesdays.
