No Local Post Offices Make 'Review List'
U.S. Postal Service Consolidating in Effort to Slow Big Losses

No U.S. Post Offices in southeastern Connecticut made the list of 15 offices in the state that could be closing in an effort to address the $2.8 billion lost by the federal mail service last year.
There are about 400 Post Offices in Connecticut. Last month it was reported that as many as 150 were being looked at as part of an aggressive cost-saving plan to close up to 3,600 offices nationwide.
The list of possible closures released today affects mostly the state’s larger cities, including Hartford, New Haven, Bridgeport, Waterbury and Stamford.
