Norwich Woman Charged In Ledyard For Drunk Driving: Police
A woman is facing charges after police say she drove drunk and crashed her car.
LEDYARD, CT — A woman was charged with drunk driving following a crash early Wednesday morning, according to police. Police responded to a report at 12:36 a.m. for a motor vehicle striking a rock ledge at 1544 Route 12.
Residents saw the driver walk away from the vehicle and head north on Route 12. The vehicle sustained major right-side damage requiring it to be removed from the scene by a wrecker, according to police.
Tianna Stakley, 24, of Norwich, was found in the area of Van Tassel Drive. Police said she was found to have a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath and staggering.

When police requested she take a standardized field sobriety test, she refused. Police found her driver's license was suspended. Stakley then became irate and uncooperative when she was arrested, according to police.
She was transported to Ledyard Police Department where she refused to be processed on the charges against her, which were operating under the influence of alcohol/drugs, operating under suspension, evading responsibility, interfering with an officer, improper turn, and failure to submit fingerprints.

She was held on $15,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in New London Superior Court on Wednesday.
