Pet Cat Not Yet Located After Crews Extinguish Gales Ferry Fire

LEDYARD, CT - Fire officials said crews were able to quickly extinguish a fire in the basement of a Gales Ferry home, the New London Day reported. The blaze took place Tuesday morning at 22 Oakridge Drive.

Officials said the owner and two teenage daughters were home at the time of the incident, according to the New London Day. While both girls and a pet dog were able to escape the home safely, fire officials said a pet cat has not yet been located.
