Motorcyclist Strikes Deer on Route 12 in Gales Ferry

On May 15, at 1:57 a.m., Coral L. Watson, 31, of 14 Flintlock Road, Ledyard, was stopped on Route 2-A in Preston and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and failure to drive in the proper lane. Her bond was set at $1,000 and she was given a May 24 court date.

On May 12, at 2 a.m., David Jones, 34, of 53 Convent Ct., Norwich, was stopped on Route 12 at River Drive and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, speeding and driving without a license. His bond was set at $500 and he was given a May 24 court date.

On May 11, at 1:14 a.m., Gary L. Chambers, 37, of Albany, NY, was stopped on Route 2 near Foxwoods and charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs, possession of marijuana and failure to grant right of way. His bond was set at $1,000 and he was given a May 25 court date.

On May 10, at 4:34 p.m., Eric W. Ransey, 38, of 180 Raymond Hill Road, Uncasville, incurred a minor leg injury and damage to the front fender of his 2007 Kawasaki motorcycle when he struck a deer in Gales Ferry while heading north on Route 12. No enforcement action was taken.
