Police Host 'Active Shooter Drill' At Foxwoods: Report

MASHANTUCKET, CT — The Mashantucket Police Department hosted an active shooter drill Monday at Foxwoods Resort Casino, as reported by the New London Day. Police said departments from across the region were brought together for the drill, which took place at the casino in a cordoned-off poker room.

Police said the drill aimed to help officers become familiar with the complexities of responding to an active shooter at the casino, according to the New London Day. The drill was also used as a means to give officers practice in communicating with officers from different departments in an emergency situation.

Those that took part in the drill included officers from the Stonington, New London, Waterford, Ledyard, Groton Town and Groton City police departments among many others, the New London Day reported.
