Police Identify Victims In Sunday Motorcycle Crash
Ledyard Boy, Air Force Serviceman Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Route 184

Stonington Police have identified the two victims who died Sunday in a motorcycle crash on Route 184 as Levi Masalin, 15, of 24 Maple Terrace, Ledyard, and James Austin, 22, of Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota.
Levi is the youngest son Steve and Elizabeth Masalin. Steve Masalin is Ledyard Public Works Director.
The crash occurred on Route 184 in Stonington near the North Stonington town line shortly after 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 22.

Wequetequock Fire Department, Stonington Ambulance Services and Stonington Police responded to the scene at 4:13 p.m. The first arriving officer reported to dispatch that one person was dead on arrival and they had one trauma code. The passenger was transported to Westerly Hospital where he later died.
The road was closed in the area of Taugwonk Road and Stony Brook Road for two hours while Stonington police gathered evidence and cleared the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
