Preston Man Charged In Stabbing Of Ledyard Man
Both people involved were injured, the Ledyard man is in stable condition.

Shortly before 2 a.m. Thursday, police received a 911 call from a man yelling he'd been stabbed. Connecticut State Police responded and found a seriously injured 42-year-old male on Watson Road in Preston.
Troopers soon located Phillip Beltran, whose last known address was 17 Watson Road in Preston, at that residence. He too had sustained stab wounds to his head and face.

Both were transported to William W. Backus Hospital in Norwich. Troop E detectives were brought in and after investigation, took Beltran into custody and charged him with first-degree assault.
Beltran, 47, was held on a $500,000 bond and will be presented in court today. Police said the investigation will continue and more charges/arrests are likely. The victim remains at Backus in serious, but stable condition, police said.
