Rep. Mike France Joins Legislature's Sportsmen's Caucus

Named as Member of Legislation Review Subcommittee

HARTFORD – State Rep. Mike France (R-42), member of the Legislature’s Manufacturing Caucus, has also joined the Sportsmen’s Caucus, additionally being named as a member of its Legislation Review Subcommittee. The goal of this caucus is to aid in passing pro-sportsmen’s legislation and uphold the tradition of recreational hunting, trapping, angling, shooting and professional fish and wildlife management.

“I believe in preserving the right of Connecticut residents to pursue their outdoor recreational interests,” said Rep. France. “Part of what makes Connecticut a great place to live is the beautiful landscape and the ability to connect with nature. I hope to enhance the experience of our sportsmen by reducing costs and streamlining regulations as a member of this caucus.”

According to the Congressional Sportsmen’s Foundation (CSF), the Connecticut Sportsmen’s Caucus is one of 44 state legislative bodies in the United States working towards enhancing the relationship of its citizens to their outdoor communities. Connecticut has 350,000 hunters and anglers who spend $752 million annually and support 10,753 jobs statewide. Legislators will work with sportsmen’s groups, industry partners, and state fish and wildlife agencies to offer its ideas on how to support these sportsmen, funds and workers to the legislature’s Environment, Judicial, and Public Safety Committees.
