Retired Ledyard PD K-9 Dies

LEDYARD, CT — Ledyard Police announced the passing of retired K-9 "Ringo."

Ringo, 12, belonged to Officer Dan Gagnon. The pair received the 1st runner up in the Daniel Wasson Memorial K-9 Award in 2010.

"K-9 Ringo will be missed greatly by all members of the Ledyard Police Department and the Town of Ledyard, " police said in a statement on Facebook. "The Ledyard Police Department sends our thoughts and prayers to Officer Dan Gagnon, his family, and friends during this difficult time."

A memorial service is being planned.
