Man Trapped, Suffers Serious Injuries in Ledyard Crash
The crash occurred Thursday morning on Shewville Road, and the Life Star helicopter was called to the scene.

Updated at 11:03 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016: A man suffered serious injuries Thursday morning when the pickup truck he was riding in slammed into a guardrail, trapping him inside when the rail broke into the cab of the truck.
The Day reports that the man, whose identity had not been released, had to be extricated from the truck by Ledyard fire personnel. Life Star, the emergency helicopter, was called to the scene and transported the man to Hartford Hospital.
The female driver of the truck suffered minor injuries.

A pickup truck reportedly slammed into a guard rail on Shewville Road, between Town Farm and Wolf Neck.
Who was injured, and the extent of those injuries, were not immediately known.
Motorists were being asked to avoid the area Thursday morning as police investigated.
