State Expected To Approve Funding For Ledyard Dam Repair

The state Bonding Commission is expected to approve a funding package this week that includes money for repairing three dams in Ledyard.

LEDYARD, CT — The state Bonding Commission is expected to approve $3 million in funding this week which will include money to repair three dams in Ledyard, according to The New London Day. The colonial-era dams are on Long Pond and Bush Pond.

The funds include money for upgrading pump stations, adding a storage tank, and extending an emergency connection. The Lantern Hill Valley Association and the McKee Farm Trust had been working to raise the $1 million for the repairs on their own.
