Suspect Burglarized, Vandalized Church: Ledyard Police

LEDYARD, CT — The Ledyard Police Department is asking for assistance in identifying the person who is responsible for burglarizing and vandalizing a church, police said.

"Officers from our Patrol and Detective Divisions responded (Saturday) morning to Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Gales Ferry for a reported burglary and vandalism that occurred in the overnight hours," police said.

"The suspect is a white male wearing dark clothing and carrying a backpack who forced entry into the meeting space and vandalized the facility, breaking windows and writing on the walls," police said. "The incident occurred at approximately 1:00 AM (Saturday)."

The New London Judicial District State’s Attorney’s Office, the FBI Civil Rights Unit and the Connecticut State Police Hate Crimes Unit are assisting in this investigation.
