Deans Mill Farm 

Built in the mid-1700s as a functioning livestock farm, Deans Mill Farm has gone through an evolution in recent decades. A full renovation of the historic buildings and rejuvenation of the surrounding 70+ acres has made the property into the incredible venue it is today. Deans Mill Farm now operates primarily as a private event space and five-room bed and breakfast tucked down a private road in Stonington, Connecticut. It shares its property with Dragonfly Equestrian Center and is home to dozens of horses. On the property lies meadows, hiking trails, beautiful fields and Dragonfly Disc Golf. The property can be rented for weddings, birthday parties and other special events. Additionally, the bed and breakfast can be rented by the room or reserved in its entirety for complete privacy. LEDYARD, CT — Ledyard police said a suspect was injured after crashing into a utility pole while allegedly evading police Sunday night. The incident occurred after an officer observed a suspicious vehicle in the business district of Gales Ferry around 9:44 p.m., police said. Police said the officer also noticed the vehicle had an equipment violation and attempted to stop the car. The suspect initially seemed as though he was going to stop, but then sped off northbound on Route 12 at a high rate of speed, according to a release. Police said the officer pursued the car into Norwich, where the suspect crashed into a utility pole just south of the viaduct. Officers were assisted by Norwich police at the crash scene, police said. Police said the driver, identified as Derrick R. Helme, 38, of Norwich, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a hospital. Police are currently investigating the situation and charges are pending, police said.
