Just 2 short weeks ago we put out a plea for a dog in our community named Captain. Captain had been rescued as a bait dog and had wounds that had never healed even after months of treatment and medication.
The owner needed help and Captain needed help even more. We didn't know what Ledyard C.H.A.I.N. could do but all we knew is we had to try. So, I put out a plea asking for funds so that Captain could get the medical attention he needed to get his leg well. Almost immediately, the love, hope, and yes, dollars poured in for this boy. In just a few short days enough money had come in to cover his surgery entirely.
Captain is now home and is walking well on his leg. The dead bone was removed and the area cleaned and cultured. He is now sewn up with no more open wounds. I hope for the first time in a very long time Captain is feeling what it feels like to be pain free.
The only thing he is having to suffer through right now is having to wear that infamous "Cone Of Shame."
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your help and for caring so much to get this boy on the road to recovery. And because you were so generous there was a little left over after paying Captain's surgery to be put aside for another pet who may need to be spayed, neutered, or seen for some other medical issue.
Still keep Captain and his owner in your thoughts as he still has a bit of recovery to go but because of our wonderful community life is looking a lot better for Captain!
