That means the new bleachers won't be available for two home games, Windham and Stonington on Oct. 14.
No bleachers? No problem.
Schools Superintendent Michael Graner said portable bleachers from the Ledyard Fair will be set up, mostly for the visitors, although he said there really will be no home or away sides.
Graner said the band will set up at the end of the field, and home-team fans will be able to root from the hill by the school.
Fans are welcome to bring their own chairs. A lot of them will probably stand.
Last year New London High School played a couple of home games at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy while their field was bring resurfaced. That possibility also was raised for Ledyard this year.
But Graner said the boosters didn’t want to lose the gate or the money raised by the concession stand. Not to mention home-field advantage.
So two games this year will be a bit different. And then, the new bleachers will be ready .
