WATCH: Good Samaritan Helps Remove Downed Tree Blocking Roadway
Jake Sylvia of Floyd's Garage in Ledyard helped to reopen Pumpkin Hill Road after a toppled tree blocked it; town workers finished the job.
LEDYARD, CT —Tropical Storm Henri toppled a large tree on Pumpkin Hill Road Sunday. So good Samaritan Jake Sylvia stopped to lend a hand.
The Ledyard Police Department gave Sylvia a shout-out on Facebook. And another to Ledyard Public Works Department crews.
The wind and rain from the storm downed trees across town, closing several, including Route 214 in both directions was closed at Albatross Drive because of a tree down on wires. Route 12 in both directions was also closed for a time for the same reason. Both were reopened.
