Ledyard Police Sgt. Scott Petersen said an F.E. Crandall truck hit wires that were crossing Route 12 near the intersection of Stonybrook Road. Peterson said he believed the downed wires were mostly telephone wires.
CL&P spokesman Mitch Gross said there have been no reported of power outages in the area. "Typically the low wires are cable and telephone," he said.
