Woman Arrested For DWI After Tailgating Another Vehicle In Ledyard

Ledyard police arrested a Middletown woman on charges of driving under the influence after she was observed tailgating another vehicle.

LEDYARD, CT - Police arrested a Middletown woman Thursday on charges of driving under the influence in Ledyard. Rene L. Wallace, 21, was stopped by officers after she was observed traveling northbound on Route 12 tailgating another vehicle.

Police said the suspect was driving a 1987 green Chevy Camaro. A subsequent investigation revealed Wallace was intoxicated and she was arrested without incident, police said. (To sign up for Ledyard breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

The suspect's vehicle was removed from the scene by LeBlanc’s Auto Towing service, and Wallace was transported to the Ledyard Police Department. Police said she was arrested and released on a $500 non-surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court June 6.
