Cloudscapes is a dynamic exhibition that celebrates artists who paint from life, responding to shifting light and weather as the sky unfolds. The sky takes center stage, revealing nature in motion as light and atmosphere evolve in the moment. Some works are painted entirely outdoors, while others begin as small sketches created on site and later developed into larger studio paintings. Working this way requires speed, intuition, and close attention to subtle shifts in light, especially as clouds move and transform the landscape within minutes. This immediacy is evident in confident brushwork, clear value relationships, and the interplay of warm and cool tones that shape form and create atmosphere. Each painting carries the physical sensation of standing outdoors, watching the light shift across the sky. Together, the works remind us how immediacy brings vitality to the landscape while lifting our gaze towards the sky.
