$1 Million Madison Country Club Project Requires Golf Course to be Shut Down

The course should be ready for Memorial Day 2015.

To take a major step forward sometimes you have to take a small step back and that is what is happening with the Madison Country Club.

A $1 million reconstruction project has commenced recently which forced the golf course to be unplayable right after Labor Day, The Source reports.

The course is expected to be ready by Memorial Day 2015.

A lot of the work is designed to prevent flooding of three holes, which occurs after serious storms, Jack Kramer reports.

Some of the work specifically includes a new green for the 8th hole, an additional tee for the ninth hole, elevation of greens at the 9th and 17th holes, a new fifth hole and the existing golf cart path will be relocated, The Source reports.
