One recent study found that women in particular have a disconnect between the retirement they envision and how well they are prepared to realize that vision according to Catherine Collinson, president of the Transamerica Center for Retirement Studies. Think about how many women’s financial status differs from men’s. Women tend to earn lower wages and work fewer years. They tend to live years longer than men, so their retirements are longer. The Transamerica study found that 48 percent of women have no retirement strategy.
