3 Madison Elementary Schools Ranked Among the State's Best

Niche.com ranked the top 100 elementary schools in Connecticut.

Three elementary schools in Madison were ranked among the top 100 public elementary schools in Connecticut, based on new rankings of the best schools in the state from Niche.com.

Here’s how they placed:

  • Kathleen H. Ryerson Elementary School— No. 35
  • Island Avenue Elementary School— No. 41
  • J. Milton Jeffrey Elementary School— No. 45

According to Niche, a high ranking indicates that “students are happy with their experiences in all aspects, especially academics, teachers, and diversity,” “the school is an exceptional academic institution in terms of teachers, students, resources for learning, and student outcomes,” and “the school is made up of a diverse population and fosters an accepting, positive school culture.”

Specifically, all three Madison elementary schools received an A+ for its academic grade, and an A+ for overall experience. Ryerson also received an A+ for its teachers, while Island Avenue and J. Milton Jeffrey teachers both received an A grade.

Also in a different ranking of the top elementary schools in New Haven County all three Madison schools led the rankings there too. You can view that list here.
