MADISON, CT — Madison's Advisory Committee on Community Appearance reviews a plan for 18 single-family homes off Mill Road, the Zoning Board of Appeals hears a request to replace a Harbor Avenue house, and Bauer Park holds its Harvest Festival on Saturday.

1. 18-Home Cluster Development Proposed Off Mill Road
When: Tuesday, Oct. 13, 5 p.m. (hybrid)
Where: Meeting Room A, Town Campus, 8 Campus Drive
What to know: The Advisory Committee on Community Appearance will review SWPG River Road LLC's plan for 18 detached single-family homes on a Mill Road property in the R-1 zone, with a private road, septic systems and stormwater management, under the town's small single-family cluster development rules, according to the agenda.

2. ZBA Hears Harbor Avenue Teardown And Rebuild
When: Tuesday, Oct. 13, 7 p.m. (hybrid)
Where: Meeting Room A, Town Campus, 8 Campus Drive
What to know: The Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing on variances to demolish a one-story house at 141 Harbor Ave. and build a two-story house, according to the agenda. The request includes a 9.9-foot front yard where 25 feet is required, building heights above the limits and a 21.1-foot setback from coastal resources where 50 feet is required.

3. Harvest Festival At Bauer Park
When: Saturday, Oct. 17, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Where: Bauer Park, 257 Copse Road
What to know: The free, old-fashioned country fair at the town's historic farm includes hay and pony rides, children's crafts, apple tasting, pumpkin painting, a hay maze, live music, a food tent, scarecrow making and a cider press, according to the town.

4. Selectmen, Planning And Zoning Meet
When: Selectmen: Tuesday, Oct. 13, 8 a.m. (Zoom); P&Z: Thursday, Oct. 15, 7 p.m. (hybrid)
Where: James Madison Room, Town Campus, 8 Campus Drive
What to know: The Board of Selectmen meets by Zoom Tuesday morning, and the Planning and Zoning Commission meets Thursday, according to the town calendar. Neither had posted an agenda as of Thursday, Oct. 8.
