MADISON, CT — Over the past week, the town has six new positive coronavirus cases. The total is now 167 cases. And as First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons said in her weekly update, new cases indicate "that we are still experiencing community spread."
"It reminds us to exercise social distancing, wear a mask in public when distancing is not possible, and wash our hands frequently," she said. "Although this is disheartening, our state overall continues to report a downward trend in active cases and is taking appropriate actions to prevent resurgence."
Lyons also noted that Gov. Ned Lamont strengthened of the travel advisory order for anyone entering Connecticut from states with high infection rates.

The order makes the travel advisory mandatory and failure to comply results in a possible $1,000 penalty imposed by the Connecticut Department of Public Health. Travelers will now be required to complete a form upon entry into Connecticut stating their name, date of birth, state of origin, estimated length of stay and location while in Connecticut, as well as their contact information.
The form is required to be submitted to DPH and can be completed online by visiting ct.gov/travelform. The number of states now identified as high risk has risen to 31 and can be found at https://portal.ct.gov/Coronavirus/travel.
