9/11 Ceremony, Madison Exchange Club 'Healing Fields' Slated

Healing Fields honors the men and women lost on Sept. 11, 2001 and to pay tribute to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice with 250 flags.

MADISON, CT — As the town will hold a 9/11 remembrance ceremony on the Madison Green, it does so as the Madison Exchange Club hosts Healing Fields.

Healing Fields is to honor those men and women lost 20 years ago on Sept. 11, 2001, but also to pay tribute to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice to our country, the Exchange Club hosts a commemorative Healing Field on the Madison Green. During the commemorative event to reflect on the 20th anniversary of 9/11, the event will be a display of over 250 3' x 5' flags. The sponsored flags will be on 8-foot poles and distanced in rows allowing people to walk among them and view the names and dedications of those represented by each flag.

The Healing Field is a reverent tribute which strives to unite the country in the service of others. Flags can be purchased to honor:

All proceeds from the sale of flags will support the ongoing efforts of the Madison Exchange Club to support child abuse prevention, patriotism, the Madison Food Pantry and local scholarships.

Located on the Green across from the First Congregational Church, the Healing Field will begin with opening ceremonies on Sept. 3 with the 9/11 commemorative service Saturday, Sept. 11.
