After Numerous Cases, Daniel Hand High School Goes Full Remote

The increase in cases is due in part to transmission among high school students at private social gatherings, officials said.

MADISON, CT — Daniel Hand High School will go full remote for students beginning Monday, through at least Dec. 4 after an increase in the positivity rate and number of students in quarantine, and because through contract tracing, it's learned that there's evidence of transmission among high school students at private social gatherings and non-school sponsored athletics.

Interim schools superintendent Dr. JeanAnn C. Paddyfote and the school district's COVID Review Team met Friday to review the data released by the CT State Department of Education as well as other up-to-the-moment information concerning Madison positivity rates.

Polson Middle School, Brown Intermediate School, Ryerson and Jeffrey Elementary schools, will continue full in-person learning, Paddyfoote said, "because of fewer positive cases."
