Memorial Day is traditionally a somber recognition of soldiers who died in the Revolutionary War and the American Civil War, fought to establish and maintain freedom and liberty for all, and in every war with U.S. involvement since.

Madison's annual Memorial Day Parade is scheduled for Monday, and will step off at 10 a.m. at the intersection of Samson Rock Drive and the Boston Post Road and proceed west on the Boston Post Road through the downtown area.
The parade will conclude with the ceremony at the Town Green and a flyover.
