MADISON, CT — The incorporation of Madison occurred 200 years ago, and in honor of the momentous event, the town is hosting a Bicentennial & Flag Day Commemoration at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, at the Madison Center for Culture and History at Lee’s Academy (14 Meetinghouse Lane).
According to First Selectwoman Peggy Lyons, the event is organized in collaboration with the Madison 200 America 250 Steering Committee and Madison Historical Society, and "will blend patriotism, history, and community spirit in a tribute to both local heritage and national pride."
The Master of Ceremonies will be Town Historian Henry Griggs, who will lead the commemorative program.
"Limited seating will be available on a first come, first served basis; attendees are encouraged to bring their own chairs," Lyons said.
