MADISON, CT —Madison Lyric Stage will present William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" from July 17-26 at the Shoreline Unitarian Universalist Society in Madison.
The comedy follows four lovers who flee into an enchanted forest after a dispute in the fairy kingdom, where they encounter the mischievous Puck and the weaver Bottom. As magic alters their relationships, the characters navigate a series of misunderstandings before their stories are resolved.
The production will be preceded by an outdoor pre-show featuring roaming musicians, madrigal singers, and food and drinks.
"'A Midsummer Night's Dream' is perhaps Shakespeare's most joyful comedies," Artistic Director Marc Deaton said. "It is indeed a feast of magic and mayhem, and I'm sure our audiences will find it irresistible fun."
Performances are scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 4 p.m.
Tickets are $45 and are available at madisonlyricstage.org or by calling 203-215-6329.
All performances will be held at the Shoreline Unitarian Universalist Society, 297 Boston Post Road in Madison.
