MADISON, CT —The Madison Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Agency conducted a site walk on Aug. 22 to review proposed driveway, culvert and utility work for a planned single-family home on Long Shore Lane.
The application from property owner and applicant LSL LLC covers regulated activity at Long Shore Lane, Map 25, Lot 74.1. The proposed work would take place within the 100-foot inland wetland upland review area.
Michael Ott of Summer Hill Engineering and Land Surveying, representing the applicant, told agency members that the approximately 22-acre undeveloped property is the potential site of a single-family home.
Ott said the regulated work would be limited to construction of the driveway and driveway culvert, with utility services installed in a trench. The proposed home site itself is beyond the wetland review area.
During the site walk, Ott identified wetland flags, a wetland pocket and a tidal wetland area. The group also stopped at the proposed culvert area before continuing to the planned home site.
The agency took no action on the application during the site walk. Further discussion was tabled until its Sept. 14 meeting.
Chair Kealoha Freidenburg called the special meeting to order at 8:02 a.m. Agency members Lee Schumacher, Anna Loss and Joe Budrow also attended. Member Stephen Lowrey was absent. Land Use Official Maria Pettola and Town Planner Erin Mannix represented town staff.
The site walk concluded about 40 minutes later.
