MADISON, CT — Boston Post Road is closed Thursday morning between Lovers Lane and Signal Hill Road due to a downed tree, Madison police said in a Facebook post shortly before 8 a.m.
The tree damaged a utility pole. Eversource will need to replace the pole before the road can reopen, police said.
Power is out in the surrounding area, including portions of the center of town.
Drivers should avoid the area and seek an alternate route, police said.
The road closure and power outage are expected to affect the area for an extended period.
