MADISON, CT — A section of Madison is still without power after a downed tree damaged a utility pole Wednesday night on Boston Post Road, according to an announcement from the town.
The downed tree closed a portion of Boston Post Road and caused a power outage in the surrounding area.
While some power has been restored and the roadway has reopened, there is still a section without power, including the downtown area.
According to the Eversource outage map, there were 375 customers in Madison without power as of 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Some customers had a restoration time of 7:45 p.m., while others had 5:45 p.m.
"Eversource is continuously working on the restoration, and power should be restored to the remaining areas by early this evening," the Town of Madison said in an afternoon update. "Residents are advised to plan ahead if visiting any Downtown businesses, as they may be without power."
Scranton Library is open and has power, but the building's elevators are temporarily out of service, the town noted.
