Madison-Based School Among Best High Schools In CT: New Rankings

MADISON, CT — Madison's public high school is considered among the best in Connecticut, according to new rankings of the top public and private high schools in the state.

Niche looked at more than 123,000 public and private schools in the nation to compile its lists of the top 50 in each state, and Westport's three were in the top 20 for either public or private high schools.

Among the state's top public high schools, Daniel Hand High School in Madison was ranked #20. The top five public high schools in the state are New Canaan High School (#1), Staples High School in Westport (#2), and Darien High School (#3). Rounding out the top five are Greenwich High School (#4), Avon High School (#5).

As for private high schools, the state's top five are, according to Niche, Choate Rosemary Hall (#1), The Hotchkiss School (#2), The Loomis Chaffee School (#3), Hopkins School (#4), and The Taft School (#5).

Niche's rankings combine federal and state data, school statistics, and over 3 million reviews from students, parents, and teachers to evaluate schools beyond test scores.
