Police Release ID Of Victim In Fatal Madison Crash

The one-vehicle crash occurred Sunday morning on Route 80 in Madison, according to authorities.

MADISON, CT — A 31-year-old Waterbury man has been identified by Madison police as the victim in Sunday's fatal crash on Route 80 (Old Toll Road).

Pedro Ayala, the sole occupant, crashed his vehicle at about 7:15 a.m., on Route 80 east of Squires Road in Madison, according to police. A portion of Old Toll Road was temporarily closed on Sunday morning while authorities investigated.

"The Madison Police Department, in coordination with the South-Central Connecticut Accident Reconstruction Team, is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident," Madison Police Capt. Jeremy Yorke wrote in a statement. "The cause and contributing factors remain under investigation at this time."

Additional details of the crash were not disclosed.
