Madison Gas Prices: Connecticut Average Eases To $4.45 A Gallon

On average, Madison drivers are paying about the same average price as Connecticut drivers.

MADISON, CT — Connecticut gas prices dipped slightly over the past week but remain well above last year's levels, according to AAA and the U.S. Energy Information Administration.

The average price for a gallon of regular gasoline in Connecticut was $4.45 on Tuesday, according to AAA. That is down about 4 cents from $4.49 a week ago but up about 13 cents from $4.32 a month ago. Compared with a year ago, when the state average was $3.12, drivers are paying about $1.33 more per gallon.

The Connecticut average is about 9 cents higher than the national average of $4.35 a gallon for regular gasoline, according to the latest weekly data from the EIA, released Tuesday and reflecting prices as of Monday. The national average fell about 11 cents from $4.47 the previous week.

The EIA does not track Connecticut prices individually. It reports them as part of its New England region, where regular gasoline averaged $4.34 a gallon as of Monday, down about 3 cents from the week before.

Gas prices can change several times a week and may vary between stations in the same town. The figures above reflect the most recent reports available at the time of publication.
